Census

In Article 1, Section 2, the Constitution includes the phrase:

[An] Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct.

Congress first met in 1789, and the first national census was held in 1790.
The Census is written in the founding documents of our nation. It provides the enumeration of people to calculate state representation as well as providing the government with a true measure of the growth of our country. Census numbers are used so much in the inter-workings of our government and ensure that every citizen is given consideration. Today is the day to send in the form if you haven't already. If you see Census representatives in your neighborhood, please treat them with respect. Anyone in this country that believes themselves to be a patriot of freedom should do everything they can to make sure they and their families are counted accurately. You should also be an advocate to remind naysayers that this isn't some subversive plot or pathetic social program that was created to take away liberty and freedom. This is a tally of America and it is something our founding fathers considered essential. That's why it's noted in the first Article of our Constitution. Do your part.

Also, these people are idiots:
Rep. Michele Bachmann
Glenn Beck
And pretty much anyone else that thinks these people speak with intelligence. Just ask Stephen Colbert
