Out Of Touch

Getting older, I start to feel like things I remember or reference are just a little behind the times for especially younger people that I talk to. I don't think this is a terrible thing. Being out of touch with the latest in pop culture is not a necessity by any means, but if you're going to pull an aging celebrity out for an opinion on the President, it's probably a good idea to find one that's actually performed in the last twenty years:
Singer Andy Williams was a friend of Bobby Kennedy, but Williams is no fan of President Obama.

“Don’t like him at all,” Williams told the London Telegraph. “I think he wants to create a socialist country. The people he associates with are very Left-wing. One is registered as a Communist. Obama is following Marxist theory. He’s taken over the banks and the car industry. He wants the country to fail.”

Seriously? Andy Williams? Do we really give a shit what Mr. Moon River thinks? Just to parse the accuracy of stupid comments for a moment, let's remember that Obama, nor the U.S. Government has taken over the banks OR the car industry. That's just crazy talk from people that don't actually watch the news, they just read the ticker on the bottom of "Fox and Friends".

I'd also like to add that if Obama is following Marxist theory, I'd like to know when the middle class part of that theory is going to start happening. I haven't gotten any word of us taking the power from the bourgeoisie. That must be this public option everyone's talking about.

Read a fuckin' book once in a while.

Wow, this from the mouth of a white, senile, bigoted, washed up singer (Andy Williams). Due to their lack of leadership, ideas and vision of where our country needs to go the Republican Party is show casing the only thing they have to offer, the scraping of the bottom of their intellectual barrel.
