Last Chance

To me this is pretty funny:
President George W Bush has enlisted British special forces in a final attempt to capture Osama Bin Laden before he leaves the White House.

Defence and intelligence sources in Washington and London confirmed that a renewed hunt was on for the leader of the September 11 attacks. “If he [Bush] can say he has killed Saddam Hussein and captured Bin Laden, he can claim to have left the world a safer place,” said a US intelligence source.

I think capturing Osama Bin Laden would make a big gesture, one that would've had much more impact prior to invading Iraq, this really seems to be grasping at a phantom chance to regain some semblance of progress for the sitting administration. I think there's a better answer: End the war in Iraq. Seriously. If George Bush wishes to absolve himself from criminal prosecution, something that will surely find him here at home or abroad once he is no longer in charge, he should do the one thing that everyone wants and no one expects. Bring the troops home and form a diplomatic compromise to the situations in Iraq and Iran.
