The Don't Cover It Campaign

That's right it's a new campaign for freedom! The folks over at the American Decency Association are determined to stop McDonald's from ruining our society with "destructive pornography". This is from their site:

December 7, 2006 - McDonalds: a repeat advertiser on VS "Fashion" Show

McDonald's must hear from us! A company that generates millions of dollars from families through Happy Meals sponsors the destructive pornography of Victoria's Secret.

Sample letter:

Millions of Christian people like me spend money minute by minute in McDonald restaurants every day. You are dirtying our airwaves and thereby our children and families when you carelessly and insensitively sponsor Victoria's Secret "Fashion" Show.

You were the only fast food restaurant to attach your name to this lust-fest. You advertised on this show in 2005 as well.

Here is what you helped bring into millions of households Tuesday night, December 5.

The women used their bodies to lure and entice while the camera focused in on barely covered crotches and breasts, mostly bare bottoms, and cleavage. And while the women seductively paraded across stage, men's reactions were shown from the audience.

Do you want my business? Advertising on Victoria's Secret "Fashion" Show is not the way to earn it and keep it.

In closing, I say shame on you, McDonald's. You have not conducted yourself with excellence.

Sincerely,
....

See below for a complete listing of sponsors of Victoria's Secret "Fashion" Show.

We are pleased that the list is free of car companies, restaurants (other than McDonalds and a local Arby's ad ), and most other mainline companies. Other advertisers include: Dell computers, Circuit City, Unilever (Vaseline and Sunsilk hair products).

So here's my take on this, if you haven't figured it out, I think that Victoria Secret is one of the best companies in the United States. They promote a healthy sex life for all Americans. McDonald's on the other hand is a company "that generates millions of dollars from families through Happy Meals" and is killing our children. Therefore in response to the ADA's attack on good wholesome sex while promoting fat children and national obesity and poor health I propose the "Don't Cover It Campaign". If you agree, go out to the mall, buy something sexy from Victoria Secret and ask the manager of the store to stop allowing McDonald's to smear the reputation of their good name. Then head over to McDonald's and put up some flier's that describe how beef is processed or just stand there and read out loud from "Jungle" by Upton Sinclair, that should get the point across.

I also want to just step away with some serious to mention that what this ADA protest is about is decency. Well personally, I consider the human body to be quite decent. And those that are religious in a "believe in God" way out there should appreciate that God made these bodies, displaying them shouldn't be considered shameful. Now on that note, what some people do with their bodies can easily be considered indecent. I'm not going to say where I think the line should be drawn there, but I will say that nothing about the Victoria Secret fashion show is indecent in my opinion. Objectivity of women will not cease by removing pornography. Sexual empowerment is a strength not a weakness. If you want to change the world ADA tell McDonald's that their food isn't decent enough for your children to eat. Then they won't be fat ass bloated bitches who are afraid to show a little skin.
