Tsunami

Powell suggests Americans who wish to help out financially to aid the survivors of the Tsunami should look at http://www.usaid.gov/ or http://www.state.gov/. I'm sure the usual world aid foundations, Red Cross and whatnot are also accepting anything needed. I don't know what to think about this. 114,000 reported dead so far, and a third of them children. I caught wind that Drudge is reporting 400,000, but he's been known to exaggerate in the past so I wouldn't put much stock in that figure. Sad truth is things are continuing to collapse as the water clears and areas are being made available for search and rescure which lead to "more horrors" as Kofi Annan put it at UN press conference. Susie brought up an interesting fact though, there aren't any animal bodies in the wreckage. Apparently they caught the hint of nature and just took off, which is basically what anyone who survived has said they've done. So it goes without saying, if you see a giant wall of water coming at you, don't worry about packing, just get the hell out of there.
