I think the supid is contagious

No, I'm not talking about the recent Democratic horror of losing a single Senate seat which doesn't eliminate their majority or their seated President or the fact that even with the number of votes capable of avoiding filibuster they still haven't quite accomplished shit with respect to a progressive agenda. No, I'm talking about something that's far worse, people that don't understand that they're bigoted assholes.

Yes, I'm talking about those Pat Robertson's out there that really believe that their uptight white people are god's children attitude is somehow a righteous viewpoint despite the simple fact that it's a completely ignorant perspective that should've died out long before Martin Luther King, long before the civil war and probably long before Jesus Christ supposedly stood on a mountain and preached to anyone walking by the radical philosophies of helping your fellow man.

Today's entry of ignorant stupidity comes out of Atlanta, where a fella named Moose has decided that basketball teams should be made up of white only players that appreciate "fundamental basketball, which they like." He doesn't see this team as racist at all because as he sees it: "There's nothing hatred about what we're doing," he said. "I don't hate anyone of color. But people of white, American-born citizens are in the minority now."
Lewis said he wants to emphasize fundamental basketball instead of "street-ball" played by "people of color." He pointed out recent incidents in the NBA, including Gilbert Arenas' indefinite suspension after bringing guns into the Washington Wizards locker room, as examples of fans' dissatisfaction with the way current professional sports are run.

Surprisingly, at least to anyone that doesn't quite understand the use of their opposable thumb, many in the southeastern United States and Moose's target area for recruitment don't see much appeal in this idea. Some have even asked him to leave town. And that's a good thing, because we can't have morons like this spreading their ignorance.

On a slightly serious tone, I really do see this as an example of how misunderstood racism truly is. The problem with racism isn't just people that spew hatred or intend to force segregation through violent or dangerous means, it's also folks like this that really don't understand at all that they view the world in a racist perspective. They see that white people aren't just everywhere anymore(although they still make up the majority of the country) so they assume that somehow they've slipped into obscurity. They see things like mixed race individuals as somehow "them" and no longer "us" anymore. I don't need to say that we're all humans here. We live on an amazing planet that has great diversity. The idea that race is somehow indicative of what type of person you are or can be is not only ludicrous, but it's the exact opposite direction of progressing as a civilized species. It's literally going backwards in time to find something that was never ever there to begin with.

Look, its a fucking tragedy that humans still exist in a world filled with prejudice, however, as long as breath draws from the lips of our species there will be ignorant motherfuckers willing to blow open their breathing holes at the supposed defense of whatever they believe in.

It's sad to say that this is the reality of life-of our existence- one candled vestige of insanity that will never truly burn itself out- but it does have to be said-

The people that believe in this sort of rubbish will never understand what the word community, nor the word "humanity" really implies.

Therefore they will pass stupidity down the ranks of generations to come- I say we start making reproduction a privilege and not a right- lets decontaminate the gene pool a bit- maybe let the bog clear out.

Good post & so sadly true... sometimes I wonder if we educated people if they would get it? Other times I realize that no matter how many times you express this information in any format some will never understand... people are so stuck on the "us" & "them" mentality in everything... from gays, to forgieners, to immigrants, those with out health care, the poor... uh.. so sad..
