Okay so I've been the supro-lazy blogger and haven't been keeping this site up to everything that I'm reading and is going on. So here's some catch up snark, sorry no links, you'll just have to trust me.

-Petreaus Betrayed us: Congress's dismissal of this advert from MoveOn represents yet another reason why no one is happy with our government. They can waste debate time and vote twice over a one page ad, but they can't seem to find a viable solution to the war that no one wants. Dodd is onto this, as are several other Democrats with a conscience, but it's clear that these assholes don't really understand what we've elected them for.
"It is a sad day in the Senate when we spend hours debating an ad while our young people are dying in Iraq. Now that the Senate has twice voted on this ad, it is time to move on and vote to end the war." - Chris Dodd

-John Boehner is a dickhead: This asshole believes that thousands of soldiers are a "small price to pay". Perhaps he could use a kick in the pants.

-Yesterday, by a 5-3 vote, the City Council of San Diego passed a resolution supporting marriage equality. Jerry Sanders, the Republican mayor-- who campaigned opposing marriage equality-- announced this morning that he had changed his mind and would sign the resolution instead of vetoing it. A former Chief of Police, Sanders, tearfully also announced that one of his daughters, Lisa, is gay and that he would lead with his heart. "The concept of a separate but equal institution is something that I cannot support," he explained, tearfully, with his wife standing at his time."
It's nice to change your mind when you find out your daughter is a lesbian. Your turn Mr. Cheney!
