"I'm disappointed that the Democratic leadership has chosen this course," Bush said.
"They chose to make a political statement," he said. "That's their right but it is wrong for our troops and it's wrong for our country. To accept the bill proposed by the Democratic leadership would be to accept a policy that directly contradicts the judgment of our military commanders."
House and Senate Democratic appropriators agreed Monday on a $124 billion bill that would fund the Iraq war but order troops to begin leaving by Oct. 1 with the goal of completing the pullout six months later. Democrats would need a two-thirds majority to override a presidential veto.
Keep whining about it you little punk! I can't believe the bullshit rhetoric this man is privy to. I can't believe that the media buys it hook line and sinker. MOST PEOPLE(about 65% last I checked) SUPPORT A TIMETABLE FOR THE WAR. They believe that our dear leader has been wrong all this time and the sad few(33% last I checked) that support this asshole have no reason to take precedent even if they do make up a large number of elite media markets. Congress wants to set rules, because that's their job. Bush wants to trust the commanders on the ground... until he disagrees with them and has them replaced. It's easy to appear as though you have friends when you keep changing the people around you based on whether or not they still agree with you.
