Happy Perihelion!

Space.com such a wonderful place for random fact. This article talks about the phenomenon that the Earth is actually closest to the sun during the winter time(at least in this part of the world). That day is today and it's called the perihelion. It's caused by a combination of the Earth's axis and the elliptical shape of it's orbit of the sun creating an analemma(the pictures are cool).
