Oh how they fall

Evangelical Leader Ted Haggard stepped down today after allegations that Mike Jones was his male escort for over three years. He's been called the number 2 man in evangilical politics with ties to President Bush. Here's what Falwell says about him now:

"Jerry Falwell, a prominent conservative Christian and Republican Party stalwart, was quick to play down the organization's role and Haggard's standing among evangelicals.

"He (Haggard) doesn't really lead the (evangelical) movement. ... He is the president of an association that is very loosely knit and I've never been a member of it," Falwell said in a CNN interview on Thursday."

Also from CNN:

"The church official who temporarily has assumed Haggard's post said late Thursday that there has been "some admission of guilt," but not to all of the allegations. He did not give any more details."

I guess they also said he admitted to buying Crystal Meth, but didn't use it and that the escort was for massages.
