What a loser

Joe Lieberman today tried to put distance between himself and Al Sharpton in an attempt to pin Sharpton as one of Ned Lamont's advisors. Sharpton was pissed because he's been an advisor to Lieberman in the past and now considers these comments race-baiting and borderline rascist. What I'm pissed about is the headline of this article in the NY Times :

"Lieberman Queries Lamont Over Commitment to Israel"

Excuse me?!?! Since when did becoming a senator in the United States hedge on commitments to Israel? It seems to me like the Lamont campaign and Al Sharpton are right. Leiberman is pushing the issue as if Lamont was somehow anti-jew. Then there was also this:

“So far I would say my opponent is saying basically a pro-Israel line,” Mr. Lieberman said at the fund-raiser. “But look, the position he’s taking on Iraq is not good for America and not good for the Middle East. Secondly, you know to some extent you’ve got to judge people by their friends. I’m glad to be judged by my friends like Ed Koch and all of you.”

Oh I see. So Lamont is just talking the talk, but somehow his position on Iraq(that position being that we need to change strategies) proves that he doesn't support Israel. But the saddest thing about this statement... the final sentence.
"I'm glad to be judged by my friends.."
Yeah, me too. I'd much rather have to answer to a friend than someone I don't know, but we're not talking about who gets to be friends with you after a nasty breakup, we're talking about the fuckin' United States Senate! You don't get the luxury of being judged by friends. YOU HAVE TO ANSWER TO THE ENTIRE COUNTRY. And I'm telling you, name dropping Ed Koch isn't going to change the fact that Joe Lieberman is nothing more than a shill for George W. Bush, the man that stole America's ideals and wiped his ass with the Constitution. Joe Lieberman is a fucking waste of space as far as I'm concerned. Rascist playing bastard.
