Despicable

Sign this petition from MoveOn:

"Subject: Don't let the Senate let President Bush off the hook for breaking the law

Hi,

This week, the Senate is planning to quietly hold a vote that would pardon President Bush for breaking the law by illegally wiretapping innocent Americans.

The bill would let the administration off the hook for breaking the law and make it legal to wiretap Americans, in secret, without any oversight whenever they want to.

Democrats and some Republicans are holding strong against it, and if enough of us speak up we can stop it. Can you sign the petition opposing the Republican move to pardon President Bush for breaking the law?

Thanks!"

btw, this was what I wrote:
"The current administrations attacks on our freedoms have gone too far. On the issue of illegal wiretapping, this administration has been found guilty of violating the law. The result has not been more terrorists in jail, but more egregious abuse of power by this administration.
If Congress does not hold accountable this President or any President that violates the law, then the law itself has no meaning and we should resign ourselves to remove any notion of democracy, representation or freedom from every public document because leaders without accountability are dictators in a dictatorship, not representatives to a free democracy.
If Congress feels this "pardoning" of the President is in the best interests of our country, then it should at the very least put such a critical vote to the test of the nation and hold a referendum to decide whether or not this President and members of his administration deserve impeachment or a pat on the back. I assure you that Americans will come out in droves to show that illegal spying, imprisonment without charge, torture and outright mendacity are not American values, they are indeed criminal acts that should be punished to the fullest degree."
