Changes to the blog

For those that are technically challenged or those that just want to know what the hell is going on, I've made some changes to the blog recently that I feel need some explanation. First off, I've added a word verification to comments. I didn't do this to make it a hassle for people to comment and I'm not trying to hold back any comments. I'm just getting overwhelmed with blog spam and since I implemented that option, I haven't seen any. So when you comment, you'll have to type out the screwy looking word you see at the bottom of the comments screen, otherwise your comment won't be entered.
The second change is probably going to be used less, but I hope people catch on to it. Near comments(and below the comments link when you view comments) is a link for well links. This is basically another way of posting data to the blog. Here's blogger's description:

Backlinks enable you to keep track of other pages on the web that link to your posts. For instance, suppose Alice writes a blog entry that Bob finds interesting. Bob then goes to his own blog and writes a post of his own about it, linking back to Alice's original post. Now Alice's post will automatically show that Bob has linked to it, and it will provide a short snippet of his text and a link to his post. What it all works out to is a way of expanding the comment feature such that related discussions on other sites can be included along with the regular comments on a post.

So how does it work? I don't really know. It sounds like an automatic thing, but I have no idea. I sort of put it there to play with and maybe make links to the Beepo blog or any other blogs easier to use. If I figure it out I'll explain it in simple terms. If anyone else figures it out, please tell us how.
