Interesting Point

Frank Rich brings up a good reason why Gonzales was not nominated to replace Justice O'Conner on the Supreme Court. Gonzales is far too deep in the scandal of Karl Rove to be subjected to a Senate hearing. Read the article.

UPDATE: It gets better. Check out this:
Apparently, not only was there a 12 hour gap in time from when the Dept. of Justice requested all documentation involving the outing of Valerie Plame, but Gonzalez told the White House Chief of Staff, Andrew Card, that night! Then once the documents were released, they didn't go to the DOJ right away, they went to Gonzalez to review and adjust as necessary. So basically we've got an investigation of possible treason, the White House is given a day to get rid of any sensitive evidence, and once what was left available was compiled, it was then given to Gonzales to peruse with his "clients" the Bush administration to make sure they could explain every piece.

Paranoia strikes deep. Do your really think that Gonzales wasn't nominated because of the Rove situation? Really?
For that matter, what do you think the real impact of removing Rove from his offical job would be? Do you think he'd just forget about the Republican party and move to another country or something?

Only his job title would change.

Agreed, but it would make a statement. Right now the issue is really confidence. I'm personally tired of having an administration that I can't even believe is working for anyone's best interests. Lies are one thing, but this is rediculous. Do I think this was the reason Gonzales wasn't nominated? Probably not, but think about it from that perspective, it would've been a nightmare of a hearing for sure.
