WE WON!

Thanks to all of the folks(me included) Blackwell has stopped rejecting voter registrations. It's nice to know that we still have some say, but we've certainly got to keep on our toes this next month, it's gonna be a doozy.

For the record, this is a copy of the email that I sent Blackwell:

Mr. Blackwell,
It has come to my attention via an article in the Dayton Daily news that your office is responsible for creating a problem with voter registrations across the state. Since when is paper thickness such a huge concern to your office that it is necessary to deny these voters their registration? This is absolutely the stupidest thing I've heard about this upcoming election. That anyone would be denied registration or forced to adhere to strict paper requirements is just another way to prevent citizens from voicing their opinion. It's disgusting that your office would sink to such lows to deny anyone the right to vote. Even your ruling on the provisional ballots shows me that you really aren't out for the interests of your constituents. It's a sad day for this state when public officials feel it's more important to invest time creating ways to hinder voters as opposed to helping them. I think in this case sir, you are not only incorrect in your judgement, you are completely out of line and are not fulfilling the duties of your office. You should issue an apology to the people of the state and instead of upholding these foolish provisions, you could appeal to the state legislation to remove this paper stock provision from the Ohio election law. Fortunately my county is ignoring these foolish mandates from your office because they don't have time to measure each application before filing. Are you sure there aren't any weight requirements for the actual voters in the Ohio election lawbooks? Perhaps the fine people working for the board of elections could go door to door verifying the weight, height, race, eye color and shoe size of each and every applicant. Then you could ensure that the voter base matches exactly the type of person you'd prefer to see at the voting booth. Or maybe you could just have them walk up and swear allegiance to the republic party in order to have the ability to have their vote counted. That appears to be the only organization you're faithful to. How pathetic to put your reputation and your integrity in preventing the basic ideal of our democracy. It's inexcusable.
