A New Day

Well it's Friday and no one seems to have anything to say. That or everyone is pissed at me, which is not important. Maybe one of you started up another page and decided to leave me out of it. That's cool, it's just like getting kicked off of the fantasy football league with no notice other than Biermann asking me if I dropped out for some reason. Cheap. It's all so fucking cheap. Or maybe I'm just the asshole here. It still doesn't matter. I do what I'm asked to do and I get shit on. It's such a beautiful reality. Well thanks for almost giving this a chance. I'll just continue posting my own rants and giggles and I guess make this a public site so I can be abused by the rest of cyberspace. What a shame. Well I really hope I'm wrong and everyone's just busy. Otherwise, ya'll can just assume I don't exist anymore. Well except that Josh has to write a play for me, I'm sure it'll be better than I'm worth.

Let's see, couple of things out of order. On to the earlier business, let's face it, arguments are going to happen. People are going to disagree, but it isn't fair to dump and call me the bad guy for any reason. Because it's stupid. Our friendship was never in jeopardy, but you got too upset over something I didn't even say.
On the fantasy stuff, I still feel cheap. I don't care who's idea it was or what the reason. I thought I played fairly well with my team, and I tried to keep up when I could. Just because someone makes mistakes or isn't the greatest at knowing the world of professional football shouldn't mean they aren't serious. So I'm pissed about that. Very pissed. It's stupid I'm kicked out and it's stupid no one had the balls to tell me. Busy excuses do not concern me. I was invited back in to be ripped back out. It's cheap and sad and the only thing I can do now is say that I'll never agree to be apart of it again. Apparently I'm not good enough and no one wants to say it so there I said it. Have fun with your gay football league. I want to end this thought by saying that I fully understand that this was a group decision and not yours completely, but I have to stand firm and say I'm disappointed in you Pete and Josh, because I've seen you both since I've talked to Biermann and you didn't mention a fuckin' thing. Thanks a lot. I'm not upset in a way that'll linger beyond this comment, but just understand that I'm disappointed.

Now about the project. It is my call Pete, it's my call and Susie's call. There are two people that decide who's in and who's out and because you're insistent on writing, you're out. It has nothing to do with your abilities or your prior help, but it does have everything to do with experience. You have yet to give me a submission of your work. I don't know of any plays you've written, and given that some of our playwrights are award winners and professional and published, I need a little more assurance than "I would put up some great material but I have been snubbed for Joe Theatre" Because it isn't Joe Theatre, it's Joe Nicoli who's studied writing in college. Josh Gill who's written several plays before even attempting the project(and he can comment on how nerve racking that first time was). We also have Amy Hartman who's won awards and published her playwriting. Kiff Vanden Heuvel who studied with 2nd City and wrote various games and pieces for their shows and Donna Dziak who had been involved since the first project because she's a theatrical professional that writes very decent plays. You're not black listed Pete, you're out matched. And these five are all we can take because I have a list of eight more that have more experience and would help to promote the theatre more because of their names and reputations. And I'm very sad to have to put it that way, and if you would've continued reading my post, I offered you a chance to act in the show. That's where we need people. That's where you can get involved and make a showing for yourself. But you didn't even read that and it was in the post you commented on. Am I that boring guys? Come on, I read everything you all write. So Pete I have to say I'm a little hurt that you really think that the people we're choosing over you are just scum shit, esp. when one of them is your friend. Also, I can't believe that you think it's so easy and yet haven't even applied. And yes, we even reviewed Josh's work before we gave him the okay, the only playwright that hasn't proven their salt first was Joe Nicoli. And we only chose him because of his background. So there it is Pete. You want in the next one, send me a play. You want to argue that I never sent you pictures? You send me a play, then we can talk.

Thank you for coming back into the room, and I'm sorry for the unpleasant topics to start, but I expect unpleasant topics once in a while. No body is trying to hurt anyone's feelings. Well my day here is done. I'll check back later tonight if I have time. I'm still figuring out how I can keep up with this thing over the weekend.

Correction on my comment. I erased asking you to be an actor Pete, I'm sorry. So to make up for it, I humbly ask again. If you're interested, you can act in the show. If you want to just help out, that's great too. If you just want to try and write for the next one, send me a play.

I got your submission. We will review it. I have to come clean slightly now. If I ever made a comment that Susie chooses who's involved, I lied to blow you off so you wouldn't get pissed. The truth is that we both choose everything. In fact that's one of our aces in the hole. No matter what decision comes up, we always defer answering in definate until the other person is aware and agrees. So to be honest Pete, neither of us were putting you on the list for consideration, partially because you never really took us seriously when we asked you to submit something. Thing you have to realize is that we put this thing together fast, so when it's two weeks before the show and you want to be involved, unless you're planning on being an actor we usually are already full. Either that or we've got people we're waiting on to complete the "plan" of each production. So now you've submitted something that we can look at. And next time we're looking for people you might get called. If you don't, don't feel like we're trying to say anything about it. Just understand that we need 5 writers, we usually get about 20 people that want that job. We need 5 directors, we usually get about 10. We need 25-30 actors, we usually get about 15 people that want that job. To be honest, I'm a little sad you don't think you could act in one of these, while it's one of the most important things, I doubt it's hardest. and believe me, acting is a lot easier than writing. But that's alright too. We couldn't think to make someone do something they didn't want to. I just figured that you'd have the possibility of being directed by me or Chad and the possibility of acting with Jim. Just mentioning.
